Gainesville ISD Trustees Call Bond Election

Proposed Projects include District-Wide Lifecycle Upgrades, Safety and Security Improvements, and Additional Learning Spaces for Student Growth

Gainesville ISD trustees voted on Aug. 21 to call a bond election that will be on the November 7 ballot. Registered voters residing within the Gainesville ISD boundaries will be asked to vote on two propositions that would generate funding for district-wide lifecycle upgrades, safety and security improvements, and additional learning spaces for student growth.

WHAT PROJECTS ARE INCLUDED FOR MY SCHOOL?

The 2023 bond proposal will impact students at all levels in Gainesville ISD. The plan includes a new grade configuration to consolidate transitions between campuses.

HOW WAS THE PROPOSAL DEVELOPED?

A committee made up of parents, staff, and community members studied the district’s current facilities and created a recommendation for the Board of Trustees.

HOW WILL THIS BOND AFFECT MY TAXES?

The GISD tax rate is the lowest it’s been in 18 years, and the monthly tax impact on an average home in GISD is expected to decrease even if the bond passes.
